Levon Afeyan began manufacturing curved plywood in 1981 as a division of the family business. In 1994 SEATPLY Products Inc was incorporated and began modestly out of a rented facility in St. Laurent, Quebec. SEATPLY quickly outgrew its original location and began to operate out of 3 separate locations. In 2001, SEATPLY consolidated its operation to its current 75,000 sq.ft. location. In 2005, a partnership was struck between SEATPLY and KIN HENG TIMBER in Malaysia allowing both companies to share their expertise, technological advancements, and their resources thus ensuring growth in the international market.
